When you call, be prepared with a pen or pencil and paper so you can write down information. If you're a licensee, it's important to know your license number and what specific questions you have. If you've got a complicated issue, be sure the person who calls can answer all the questions staff may ask. Finally, if our technician cannot help you completely, we will get the information and call you back.

Generally, the longest wait times are on Monday and Tuesday mornings or on the first day after a holiday. Wait times also can be a bit longer during lunch breaks, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The end of the day, between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. is often busy. Other busy times are on rainy days and when there are "hot" issues that affect a lot of licensees.

The shortest wait times tend to be later in the week. Another good time to call is on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
